A little update

I thought I would take a moment to update you on what has been going on in the clinic and the website.  As you may know I write little articles or ‘blogs’ every week or so and I have a massive list of topics that I want to eventually get to. My goal is to be able to reach and help more people with simple and highly effective health tips. I am limited by the hours in the day to be able to see people 1 on 1 but using the internet makes all that information accessible to anyone at anytime. The problem has been trying to decide which articles to focus on, as I have no shortage of ideas! I am working up the courage to post some videos of some of my ‘rants’ that I inflict upon patients in clinic but I am not used to seeing myself in video. I’m getting there!

There is a tool called Google Analytics that allow a person to analyze their website to see where their visitors are coming from, what they are looking at, and what pages are looked at the most. Don’t worry, I can’t actually see who you are just general information. For example, I notice that there are a lot of visitors from Victoria, Toronto, California, and for some reason Mexico! There is a tool that shows what people search on Google that brings them to my website and this has been very interesting.

Here are the top 3 searches:

  • The 3rd most common search is “acupuncture Victoria BC.” That’s not too surprising.
  • The second most common search is “facial rejuvenation acupuncture” most likely because that is one of my specialties.
  • But the first, by far most common search that brings people to my website is “Qi Gong.”

Over the next little while I will be trying a few things to try to appeal to those who are visiting here the most. If you have any ideas, requests or recommendations feel free to send me an email or leave a message on Facebook.

One idea I was working on was answering some commonly asked questions about acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, qi gong, health, diet, cooking, etc. through video or even audio. There are just so many topics and ideas and not enough time in the day!

In the Clinic

One new change in the clinic is that I am offering Health Consultations now. I have had many people call or email who want help and direction with their health but don’t want acupuncture. So, now I can offer a consultation that looks at the body from a Traditional Chinese Medicine point of view and then I will provide you with a ‘plan of action’ that may include:

  • diet
  • exercise
  • stress management
  • lifestyle changes
  • supplements, herbs

The first visit will be quite extensive and I will help you decide on the best action plan and we will follow up and ‘check-in’ in 2 or 4 weeks. The goal of Health Consultations is finding ‘your Formula’ that you can put into action yourself and I can be there to help support you along the way. Most people instinctively ‘know’ what they should be doing they just need a little encouragement and accountability.

Let me know what you think and don’t forget to…
